William C. C. Chen to Visit in November

We are excited that there are plans to host Grandmaster William C. C. Chen on Sunday November 9th at Roswell Budokan. William Chen as a teenager was interested in the martial arts and wished to become a great master. His father introduced him to an old playmate Chen Man Ching who just happened to be one of the most famous Tai Chi masters. He then became Chen Man Ching's (or Prof. Chen) youngest student.

Grandmaster William Chen is my teacher's teacher. I have been attending Grandmaster Chen's Seminar at Tennessee University, with Sifu Jeff Cook, for four years. I must say that their is a good reason Grandmaster Chen is consistently published in Kung Fu and Tai Chi magazine. He has certainly become the master he wished to be when he was a teenager. I was excited this year to get to meet him at the airport with Sifu Cook and Sifu Brown, Sifu Larry Brown hosts the event each year. In person he is a very humbling sort of person. Very relaxed, very generous, caring, and reserved. When he begins class, it is like awakening a sleeping dragon. He comes alive with an invigorating energy under his very relaxed facade. He is gentle and demonstrates a kind of patience in teaching I can only one day wish to achieve.

Grandmaster Chen has gone on to train champions in fighting include both his children (Max and Tiffany). Check out the website. Their is some extraordinary footage of Max and Tiffany fighting.
